Mat 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
Mat 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
Mat 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
The price to be paid for following Jesus is not cheap. Denying ones self and following the Lord will require on our part a solid commitment to Him, regardless of what the world would think about it. If you have jumped off the boat to walk on the water only to discover that it was not as easy as you thought it would be, don't give up. Keep your eyes on Jesus and He will be there to help you through it. He didn't promise the sea would be smooth, but you can speak with His authority that He has given to you, and command the roaring sea and storm to be still.
In our walk with Jesus, there is no getting around Holiness. That is only part of the cost we pay to follow Him. The Greek word used in the Bible for our English word Church means "Called out". Which goes right along with what the LORD says, "Be Holy, for I am Holy". Holiness is "being separate, set apart or aside", which parallels with the "called out" for the Church. There is no way around it. Holiness in our commitment to Him is what He requires. There is a cost to be paid, but the reward is eternally forever!
Don't get mixed up with worldliness with your walk. Stay modest in clothing, pure in talk and your walk. Remember what Paul said...
2Ti 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
2Ti 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
2Ti 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
1Ti 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
You are loved....
